Discover Traditional Japanese Plants and Their Varieties
In Japan, still people growing many traditional Japanese plants, but these plants and their varieties are gradually disappearing from the horticultural market. This decline is due to the shrinking market and the aging population of growers who are retiring and closing their nurseries. When a nursery closes, some plant varieties may be lost forever. We are concerned about the loss of these plants. My goal is to reintroduce traditional Japanese plant varieties to the world, supporting the Japanese nurserymen who continue to preserve these plants, ensuring they are passed on to the next generation.

This initiative is beyond what I can achieve alone. Therefore, I started with a hundred varieties of traditional Japanese horticultural plants in a small greenhouse in Canada. You can see the plants in my gallery. The plants in the gallery I already have in my greenhouses. This effort aims not only to raise awareness of the issue but also to actively address it. I sincerely hope that, with everyone’s cooperation, this circle of support will expand globally.
